G∴ O∴ D∴ C∴

Freemasonry is a symbolic order based on working with every stone representing a distinct person. It is an essentially philanthropic institution, philosophical and progressive in nature, dedicated to the search for truth, the study of morality and the practice of solidarity. Freemasonry works for mankind's moral and material betterment, for its intellectual and social evolution. Its symbolic agency is none other than the construction of the Temple.

A brief history of the Grand Orient of Canada

The Grand Orient of Canada (G∴O∴D∴C∴) has been formed in 1992 as a spin-off from the Grand Orient of France. As a rule, a Grand Orient is always a national body, never a provincial one. Currently, the G∴O∴D∴C∴ includes the Emancipation Lodge which meets in Montreal and is named thus in memory of the city's first masonic lodge, that was also called Emancipation and was independent of the Grand Lodge of England.
